 CrossRoads
at the beginning.
People
who love Jesus will meet anywhere! There were 18 of us on this day, and
it was only 57° F. because we had no heat.
This
church was born in an old converted milk barn on September 10, 2006. There were 14 charter members. The
milk barn had no running water, heat, air, or bathroom facilities. It
did have an outside toilet.
We figured if Christ was born in a
manger, CrossRoads could be born in a milk barn.
Some
of our early members came to us from a church that was in spiritual
turmoil. They were hurt and their spirits were bruised.
God
led them to CrossRoads and He started the process of restoring them
again for His wonderful glory.
We
began this church with our heart in the Bible. We even developed a
slogan: "Not
how, but why".
In
other words, we don't care HOW people have always done church, we only care
about WHY we should be having church in the first place.
We
think that tradition, for tradition's sake, hinders any kind of pure and
honest worship, and when we focus on tradition, we have no room left to focus
on Jesus.
Our
sermons are not all 'hellfire & brimstone' but they are not 'easy
listening' messages, either. They reflect the truth that is found in the
Bible. We preach God's word as it is written in
the Bible and then show how we can use it in our daily lives as Christians.
If
you are yearning to hear how God's word can affect your life and those of your
family, you are encouraged to visit us this coming Sunday at 10:00 a.m. |
