Our
beliefs are simple, in that we try and model our church after
the first century church. We follow the Bible in all we do.
We
believe in the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the
Holy Spirit. All were here in the beginning and only through a
belief in, and acceptance of, Jesus as our personal Savior will we
spend eternity with them in heaven .
We
strive to proclaim the
good news of Jesus Christ through everything we do, both in and
out of church. As the song says, "It's our joy to honor
You, in all we do."
We
believe the purpose of the church is two-fold: To bring the
community into the house of God so that they might get to know Jesus
on a more personal level, and to equip those within the church so that they might be able to go
out of the church and touch even more people for Jesus.
We
believe Christ
is the Head of our church. The local church is shepherded by
servant-leaders. We believe that the pastor and other leaders must work together as a team, and not let any one of them
use their authority over the others. In so doing, the team loses, and so
does the church. It is not about the local church. It is
not about the pastor or the other leaders. It is, however, all about Jesus as the living Son
of the living God.
We
believe all Christians possess spiritual gifts, which are
given to us as the Holy Spirit deems necessary, and which enable us to
serve others for the glory of Christ.
We
believe salvation is only found through a belief in - and
acceptance of - Jesus, as your Savior.
We
believe baptism is an outward sign of an inward change, and since
Jesus was baptized by immersion, we believe that all who follow after
Him should also be baptized by immersion. We do not believe,
however, that it is the water that saves you; it is your belief in
Jesus that saves you. The baptism in water is a sign of your
humble obedience to Jesus.
We
believe love is the most important of all things, and out of
that love will evolve peace and glory for God Almighty.
We
believe in the virgin birth, the death on the cross, and the literal
resurrection from the dead. We also believe in Jesus' ascension into
Heaven, to go and prepare a place for us there.
We
offer Communion each Sunday as a way to keep Jesus in the
forefront of our thoughts, remembering what He did for us, why He did it, and
that He promised He will return again to take us home.
Membership
in our church revolves around a personal acceptance of Jesus Christ
(including being baptized by immersion) and and a decision by you to
humbly submit your life to His leadership over
your own.
These
are our beliefs in general. For any specific answers to any
